The Global Talent visa provides an opportunity for leave to enter or remain in the UK for individuals in the fields of natural and medical sciences, engineering, humanities and social sciences, digital technology, research and innovation, and arts and culture (inclusive of film, television, fashion and design, and architecture).
Applicants can apply under either the ‘exceptional promise’ category or ‘exceptional talent’. Exceptional promise refers to those who are potential leaders in their field, whereas exceptional talent refers to those who are already leaders in their field.
If your application is successful, you will be granted leave for the period you requested in your application, up to 5 years. If you wish to stay in the UK for longer, you can apply to renew your visa as many times as you like, provided that you can still meet the eligibility requirements for extending.
Global Talent is a route to settlement. You may be eligible to apply to settle permanently in the UK after 3 years if you are applying as a leader, or after 5 years if you are applying as a potential leader.
Applying for the Global Talent visa is typically a two-stage process. Before you can apply for the visa, you must obtain an endorsement from one of the Home Office approved endorsing bodies. The endorsing body you need to apply to depends on the field in which you work. For film and television, the Producers’ Alliance for Film and Television (PACT) will assess your application for endorsement.

As it currently stands, PACT do not endorse potential leaders or ‘exceptional promise’ applications.
An applicant for an Exceptional Talent endorsement in the field of Film and Television must satisfy the endorsing body that they have been recognised as an exceptional talent in the field of film and television and show one of the following:
An Academy Award
A British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA)
A Golden Globe
An Emmy Award
Applicants must also provide three letters of recommendation with their application:

Yes, the Global Talent route allows you to bring dependent family members with you to the UK. ‘Dependant family members’ includes your partner and any dependent children who are under the age of 18 at the time of your first visa application. You should include any dependents on your visa application form (Stage 2).
When making the stage 2 visa application, you can select your how long you wish to be granted leave to remain in the UK, up to a maximum period of 5 years.
