Blind Dates: how the Home Office has sown seeds of confusion for EU citizens and their families
Much of the confusion facing EU citizens and family members either in the UK already, or hoping to relocate here in future – maybe before the end of the Implementation Period on 31 December 2020 or after – is caused by the seeming myriad of deadlines which have been created by successive changes to EU Regulations and Immigration Rules.
To mark (I hesitate to use the word celebrate) yet more changes to the Immigration Rules for EU nationals in force between 1 and 31 December 2020, we have updated our immigration FAQs to include a section on Brexit, first up taking a look at the dates by which certain things need to be done in order to first achieve, and then retain, lawful residence in the UK.
If your question isn’t answered by these FAQs, do get in touch and we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction. You can also find information about the substantive requirement of the rules for EU citizens on our EU Settlement Scheme guidance page.
