How will past criminal convictions affect my visa application?
You are required to disclose all criminal convictions or cautions in the context of any visa application, although some categories have higher thresholds than others for when they might extract a refusal. In most cases, a term of imprisonment of 12 months or more is likely to prevent a visa application until a certain period of time has elapsed since the sentence was concluded. A term of imprisonment of less than 12 months may still result in a refusal.
