June 2024

Gary McIndoe jetted off to Chicago for the American Immigration Lawyers Association – Global Mobility Section Conference. He will be joining a panel discussing Practice Management in Uncertain Times. We hear Chicago is a lovely city at this time of the year – we wish we could all go with him!

May 2024

Sam Jubb qualified as a solicitor and celebrated with a refreshing pint on holiday in Spain. Many congratulations Sam!

We welcomed Keelin Caffery as an immigration solicitor – Keelin qualified last year and has worked as an immigration caseworker for 7 years so she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise with her. Welcome to the team Keelin!

Mohammed visited MCFC for the annual Community Event to celebrate the end of Yasmine Dar’s reign as Lord Mayor of Manchester – our first Asian female Lord Mayor. Nice for him to finally see some silverware!

Gary has again been listed in WhosWhoLegal’s guide to the best legal worldwide practitioners in Corporate Immigration 2024. Gary is recognised as a Thought Leader, one of only 290 lawyers across 33 countries and one referee states that Gary “always considers all available options, and makes strong recommendations so our business gets the right outcome.” Gary says that “this accolade is a testament to the excellent work that the whole team provide to our corporate client base. I am proud of the expert advice and service they deliver daily to our  valued clients.”

Mohammed attended the Myerson Solicitor’s Connections conference for law firm decision makers at Salford Quays. He enjoyed networking and learning tip on how to run a successful legal practice.

Mohammed and Callum hosted a training session for Careers Service at the University of Manchester on sponsor licences, skilled worker visas & graduate visas.

April 2024

Gary attended a French-speaking event organised by the Brussels Bar at the Biblioteque Nationale to learn about current trends in refugee status determinations across the EU. It was a very well attended with representatives from the Belgium government and the European parliament.

Our very own T Level student, Joshua, finally turned 18 – have fun celebrating!

Latitude Law hosted an interactive panel session on UK/US immigration & tax considerations when moving or expanding your business interests to the US. Alongside Gary, our panellists were Amanda Brill (US attorney) from Brill Immigration & Michael Holland (UK/US tax specialist) from Blick Rothenberg. Our main takeout was that selecting the right visa and fulfilling your tax obligations is very complicated so ALWAYS seek expert advice

Gary and Rebecca travelled to Belgrade in Serbia to meet with our business partners and the Lanaco developers to agree development roadmap for next iteration of Halcyon DocuMigrate – our secure portal / document handling tool. It was a pleasure to meet the team and spend time in this lovely city – the unseasonably hot weather was also very welcome!

March 2024

Mohammed and Nancy went to Manchester University to present a seminar on Skilled Worker visa requirements at the end of the month to 50 of the MBA and MSc students. We always enjoy hosting events like these where we can share our knowledge with younger talents.

Earlier in March, Gary spent some time in Amsterdam as part of a Super panel for the AILAGMS CILS paradiGM Community European conference. He had a great time as part of the panel and took some photos for the team while he was there, we all wish we could have gone with him!

Belinda Zhang joins us from our sister company Latitude Consulting Group in a marketing capacity. Belinda will be levering her connections to promote Latitude Law’s services to new and existing clients as well as collaborating with LCG in offering full relocation and business start-up guidance to Chinese nationals seeking to live and work in the UK.

This month, we welcome a new employee!

Joshua Stubbs Chapman has joined us as a T-Level student. Part of his course includes in industry work experience and we were more then delighted to help a member of the next generation as we all know how hard it can be to get that “First Job” in industries.

He will be part of our marketing team and we cannot wait to show you what he can do!

The Times have released their Best Law Firms of 2024, which contains Latitude Law for the 2nd year running. We are one of just 250 law firms in England and Wales to make the list.

We were delighted that our Managing Partner Gary McIndoe was ranked in the prestigious Chambers & Partners High Net Worth Guide 2023 for the 5th year running. This international guide recognises just 38 UK immigration lawyers for their work undertaking the complex needs of High Net Worth clients. As one referee states: “In addition to the expertise in handling UK inbound immigration-related matters, Gary has well demonstrated the qualities a business leader should have: he is inspirational and keen to develop innovative solutions to challenges and obstacles.”

After work, 4 hardy members of staff took advantage of the long nights and walked / scrambled up to Kinder Plateau to enjoy the fabulous views.

We welcomed Anna Sullivan to our ever growing team as a paralegal. Anna has recently completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law and already has some experience advising clients on immigration matters.

Joel & Katerina attended the Private Client Modern Law Awards at The Rum Warehouse in Liverpool where in Latitude Law’s bespoke Document Management System had been shortlisted in the Best Innovation category.

June 2023 

The team had fun afternoon in Tatton Park, looking at the gardens and playing rounders.

Gary McIndoe attended the American Immigration Lawyers Association conference in Orlando and spoke on the topic of Remote Working In The Context Of Global Migration & Employment. 

Gary McIndoe bestowed member of the Congress of CILS Fellows, one of less that 5,000 lawyers worldwide to be recognised. He was appointed by the Center for International Legal Studies in recognition of being a faculty member at the AILA / CILA conference in Vienna in March 2023.

Latitude Law’s bespoke client portal, Halcyon DocuMigrate was shortlisted for the Modern Law Private Client Awards in the Best Innovation category.

Following a full audit, Latitude Law were awarded the enhanced certification of Cyber Essentials Plus, the highest level available in recognition of our cyber security standards.

Latitude Law presented 2 different sessions of Navigating Visas & Immigration to a collective audience of 100+ employers hosted by University of Manchester.

April 2023 

Latitude Law’s entire casework team undertook half day training from prominent barrister Adam Pipe as part of the firm’s commitment to training and development. 

After 15 years at Latitude Law, having joined from day 1, Maz Regan retired as Legal Secretary and began her well-earned rest from the workplace. The team enjoyed celebrating her new-found freedom with her.  

March 2023 

Gary McIndoe spoke at the Center for International Legal Studies / American Immigrations Lawyers Association European conference in Vienna on Cybersecurity and Immigration Practice. 

Latitude Law attended the LexisNexis Legal Awards at Grosvenor House in London as finalist for Legal Supplier Innovation category. 

Latitude Law presented a workshop to students at University of Manchester, in relation to visa options following graduation. The workshop was attended by over 225 students, both in-person and via Zoom. 

Latitude Law hosted a table at the Women In The Law dinner at the Midland Hotel, Manchester to celebrate International Women’s Day. Our guests included key clients, referrers and universities with whom Latitude Law is associated. 

Jessica Lee qualified as a solicitor and team enjoyed toasting her success.

 The entire Latitude Law team spent 2 days in sunny Lisbon as a very enjoyable team bonding visit.
