The Challenges Faced

Client A, a French national, faced significant hurdles in her application for settled status due to her partner’s career as a professional footballer, which involved varied residence across the UK and Europe over 15 years. The lack of conventional documentary evidence necessitated reliance on unorthodox proof of residence, primarily through witness statements from friends and colleagues. The Home Office’s explicit disapproval of such evidence created a high burden of proof, and a failed application would have left Client A with no other options to remain in the UK with her family.

Latitude Law represented Client A in her settled status application and subsequent appeal to the First Tier Tribunal, preparing and presenting oral evidence from Client A and three key witnesses to substantiate her historic residence and UK visits.

The Outcome
