Is the UK going to extend the Transition Period?

The British government have not extended the Transition Period, the deadline for doing so was 30 June 2020. Therefore, EU citizens looking to relocate to the UK should aim to do so before 31 December 2020, and apply for residence documentation under the EU Settlement Scheme before the current deadline of 30 June 2021. Doing so will mean you are covered by much more favourable immigration rules than you would be if arriving from 1 January 2021.
