What is an EEA Family Permit Residence card?

An EEA Residence Card is a document which is issued to non-EEA family members to confirm their eligibility to reside in the UK. To be eligible, you must be able to demonstrate that you have an EEA National family member in the UK who is a ‘qualified person’. Currently, you are only required to apply for a Residence Card if you are an extended family member (e.g. partners in a durable relationship or cousin) or if you need to prove you are dependent on the EEA sponsor (e.g. children over 21).
