Can family members join me in the UK on a student visa?

Certain family members are eligible to join you in the UK if you are studying in one of the following:  

• a full-time student on a postgraduate level course (RQF level 7 or above) that lasts 9 months or longer 
• as a new government-sponsored student on a course that lasts longer than 6 months 
• as a Doctorate Extension Scheme student  

Family members that are eligible to join you on a student visa include your partner (if married, in a civil partnership, or unmarried partner (lived together for two years) and any children under the age of 18.
