Are the UK’s overseas Visa Application Centres open?

The majority of the UK’s overseas Visa Application Centres have now re-opened, however some do still remain closed. If your centre is closed due to coronavirus restrictions, you can apply online and select a centre in another country worldwide to submit your application and biometrics. You’ll need to make sure you’re permitted to travel to that country beforehand. This concession has been extended to 31 December 2021, subject to review.

In addition, many centres which have re-opened are not yet offering appointments to new applicants, meaning applicants must wait for an invite before they can book an appointment. The priority and super priority service has also been suspended in many locations.

Announcements in relation to closures are often not clear, but Latitude Law can check the centre on your behalf, and can assist with the process and any obstacles faced due to the closure of a Visa Application Centre. Where possible, we may be able to suggest an alternative centre for you to attend to enable your application to be processed.
